It’s easy to buy every baby gadget you hear about, but it’s important to do your due diligence. Baby monitors are one of the trendiest baby products that most young mothers hear about, and want to buy without finding out whether they really need it.
The truth is that not everyone needs a baby monitor. Our mothers did not use baby monitors, and they and us did not die. Most Nigerian parents are not using baby monitors and nothing bad has happened to their babies.

How cool is that? Think of a baby monitor as having a CCTV in your house, so that even when you are in the kitchen or any part of the house, you would see or hear when your baby needs you – or know when an emergency occurs.

-If you always have many relatives, house-helps or nannies around the house.
-If you have a sick baby, sick relative or aged family member that you want to keep an eye on without physically going to their rooms – so that you can do your household chores and still monitor them.

So you see, not every parent needs a baby monitor – even if they can afford it or not.
While we can all agree that a baby monitor helps a great deal, buying one only if you need it, and if you have a big house or don’t have in-house nannies. Buying a baby monitor is not a do-or-die affair. You and your child can still survive okay without it. But, it’s not a luxury, either.
