The Two Major Sizes For A Bra Are The Band Size And The Cup Size.

To ensure you buy or order via online the best-fitting bra, I implore you take a moment to take an accurate measurement of yourself; starting with your band size because band sizes vary in different counties. The band size is the size of the bra band around the torso/ribcage to determine your size, while the cup is the round the body at the nipple level. Get a measuring tape, standing mirror, pen and paper and then follow the steps below to ascertain what bra size is your accurate bra size.

Two How to Measure and Get Your Actual Bra Size

Step One:
  • Band Size (Underburst): Measure around your band the fullest part directly under your bust but do not pull too tight. The measuring tape should be very snug.
  • After measuring, if the number is even add four (4) but if it is an odd number add five (5) to round it up to the nearest whole number. For instance you measured your band size 34 inches, plus 4 your band size is 38 and if it happens that you measured 35 inches, plus 5 your band size is 39.

Step Two:
  • Cup size/Overbust: Wrap the measuring tape around your breast at the nipple level and round it up to the nearest whole number.
  • Calculate Your Cup: Subtract the band size from your bust size. E.g, Example: 39 inches (bust) – 36 inches (band) = 3 inches. That’s a 36C.

Note: It is better done while braless but if your bust will obstruct you, wear a none padded bras to enable you get the accurate measurement of your cup.
